Dani Amirah Mundy is currently Academic Manager at EDSkills Language School in Birmingham. She is also an EAL Consultant for Birmingham City Council and runs regular TEFL Courses to help schools with EAL students.  Dani has over twenty years’ experience in the ELT sector and has just become a reading Ambassador for Read Pakistan. In her free time, she is a materials writer and has recently written a course book on public speaking. She has worked as an International Trainer for Penguin Random House for the last 4 years.

The Future is Now: Teaching Skills You Never Learnt on Platforms You Never Expected to Use

Nick Perkins has worked in education and publishing for over 20 years. He taught English and managed the ELT Department at the Universidad Externado de Colombia in the early 2000s, before becoming Academic Development Manager for Latin America at Pearson. In 2012 Nick co-founded an educational consultancy where he worked on a wide range of language education projects with public and private institutions in Latin America and Europe. He went on to work full time for the British Council as Schools Development Manager and Exams Operations and Transformation Manager for the Americas. In 2019, Nick took a self-funded sabbatical and went bicycle touring through Colombia and Ecuador. He now provides freelance educational consultancy, language and translation services to clients and institutions in Colombia and around the world, and is the global ambassador for English Code, Pearson’s exiting new ELT series for children.

The Power of Visual Literacy to enhance Language and Thinking Skills

Luciana Fernández is a graduate teacher of English and a teacher educator who has 26 years´ experience in the field of education. She has specialized in Methodology, Teaching Practice, Early Years Education, Literacy and Critical Thinking. She holds a Diploma in Educational Research from University of Cambridge, Faculty of Education. She has also two postgraduate certifications in Teaching for Comprehension and Thinking Cultures (FUNDACIES, Colombia).

Luciana has presented at numerous congresses and conventions both nationally and internationally and was awarded an IATEFL scholarship in 2016. At present she is a Senior Academic Consultant for National Geographic Learning and Trinity College London Argentina and she is an Educational Advisor at several schools. She has been both a teacher and Head teacher at several institutions in Buenos Aires and has been a teacher trainer at ESSARP (English Speaking Scholastic Association of the River Plate) for the past fourteen years.

National Geographic Learning Senior ELT Academic Consultant for Latin America, has a B.A. in TEFL from Universidad Autonoma de Sinaloa in Mexico and a Post-Graduate Degree on Teachers’ Development from The College of St. Mark & St. John, Plymouth, UK. Jair has been involved in language teaching and teacher training for over 25 years and has conducted workshops on various topics such as lesson planning, discourse analysis for language teachers, action research, educational technologies, and 21st century skills, among others. Jair holds a Diploma in Teaching English for Specific Purposes (DipTESP) and the E-Tutoring Certificate from the British Council. He is a frequent presenter at ELT conferences throughout Latin America.

Philip Haines is originally from England but has been living in Mexico since 1995. He is an author/co-author on several ELT series published in Mexico and speaks at ELT events all over Mexico as well as internationally. Juan Carlos Hidalgo, a well-known teacher and teacher trainer for his broad experience with children, teenagers and adults, started teaching English at the early age of 14, and is currently working at Cambridge University Press LATAN Branch as a Key Account manager and Digital Specialist. Over the last ten years, Juan Carlos has been training school and university teachers on different topics such as Planning and Evaluation, Communicative Language Teaching, Online teaching, Engaging and motivating students, among others. He has also edited some story books for authors from the Ecuadorian Ministry of Education.

Today his main area of research is focused on blended learning and using technology in ELT

Rebecca Adlard is an experienced ELT professional: a teacher, teacher trainer, author, presenter, series and development editor specializing in very young learners, young learners, drama and stories. She is based in Brighton, UK. She’s been in ELT publishing and education for nearly 20 years and has taught English and lived and worked on various English language projects in the UK, Sweden, Denmark, Australia, Syria, Yemen, China and Spain. She is co-director of her own company, Language Umbrella Ltd. Rebecca has a love of stories, plays and playing, and continually looks for ways to include these in language learning. She is series editor for Collins’ new primary ELT Peapod readers series.
